As unique as they are, Cmolik scholars have much in common: the determination to pursue their goals, overcome challenges, and give back to their community. We’re proud to have played a role in helping these brilliant and hard-working individuals find success and even prouder to call them part of the Cmolik family.

Our Graduates

Andrea Todd

Andrea completed her Bachelor of Arts in Geography and French UBC in 2001. She completed her Masters of Education in Educational Practice at SFU in 2018 and continues to pursue a rewarding career as a French teacher at a high school in Surrey.

Josh Pitre

Josh graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Music at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2007 and his Masters of Music at UBC in 2010. In his free time, Josh is learning French. 

Gavin Fisher

Gavin graduated from Elgin Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Religious Studies at UBC in 2011. In 2021, he earned his MA in Anthropology from the University of South Carolina, completing a thesis on the intersection of LGBTQ rights and religion in Taiwan. In his free time, Gavin has been learning new recipes and honing his skills as a windsurfer.

Adam Fourchalk

Adam graduated from Semiahmoo Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor or Arts in English at SFU in 2012. Currently, Adam teaches elementary students in Surrey.

Bridget Erickson

Bridget graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of Victoria in 2012.

Carter Hawke

Carter graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Management in Accounting at University of British Columbia Okanagan in 2012. He currently works as a CPS and manager for a national accounting firm. Outside of work, Carter participates in ultramarathon trail races and acts as a mentor to a Cmolik Foundation student.

Mari Klassen

Mari graduated from Semiahmoo Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language at Gaullaudet University in 2012. She works as a permanent instructor at Vancouver Community College teaching American Sign Language and does contract work as an ASL translator for Provincial Language Services.

Tyler Noble

Tyler graduated from Langley Secondary in Langley, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Human Kinetics at Trinity Western University in 2013. In the years after graduation, Tyler started his own business and ultimately landed an exciting role as an account executive for an international insurance brokerage.

Tanner Regan

Tanner graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Science at the University of Toronto in 2012. After earning his PhD at the London School of Economics in 2021, he is now working at London Business School’s Wheeler Institute for Business and Development.

Kody Taylor

Kody graduated from Clayton Heights Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Applied Science at UBC in 2013. Currently a chief engineer at an automotive company, Kody leads his team as they pursue technological innovation.

David Horvath

David graduated from Frank Hurt Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Arts in History and Classical Studies at UBC in 2014. After completing law school at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC, and articling, he is now pursuing a rewarding career in litigation at an Okanagan firm, appearing frequently in Provincial and Supreme Court.

Hailey Lawrence

Hailey graduated from Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at SFU in 2014.

Josh Mamdani

Josh graduated from Walnut Grove Secondary in Langley, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Physiology at SFU in 2014. After completing his law degree at the University of Calgary, he is currently articling for a Calgary firm. In his free time, he is a board member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers – Western Chapter, a non-profit that promotes diversity in the legal profession.

Simaran Kalkat

Simaran graduated from Fleetwood Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at UBC in 2014. In 2020, she graduated from UBC Medical School, working in hospitals across the Lower Mainland and throughout BC.

Alyssa Raymond

Alyssa graduated from Guildford Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at Douglas College in 2015. A CPA, she currently works as a controller and enjoys spending time camping and hiking with her family in her free time.

Brad Goodchild

Brad graduated from Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at SFU in 2015. He currently works at PLEA Community Services, a non-profit that seeks to build strong communities.

Paige Sidhu-Xavier

Paige graduated from Princess Margaret Secondary in Surrey, BC, and attended the Xavier University School of Medicine in Aruba completed her program in 2015. While she studies bookkeeping, Paige enjoys exploring painting in her free time.

Jamika Ishikawa

Jamika graduated from Princess Margaret Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at McGill University in 2015. Her recent work with animals at a vet clinic has inspired her to seek out educational opportunities in the veterinary field.

Samantha Lynch

Samantha graduated from LA Matheson Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre at the University of Victoria in 2015. She has been busy making music, dabbling in photography, and developing a community arts program.

Alexandra Calbery

Alexandra graduated from Kwantlen Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in French and Political Science at SFU in 2016. After completing an Associate of Arts Degree in Economics at Douglas College, she has been volunteering with the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association, the Urban Native Youth Association, and the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. She plans to pursue a career in public policy.

Christopher Logan

Christopher graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Applied Science at UBC in 2016. After earning his Professional Engineer designation, he has worked in the geotechnical construction industry. Chris spends his free time pursuing personal fitness goals and playing with his dog, Tucker.

Megan McKillop

Megan graduated from Guildford Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at SFU in 2016. Currently, she works in the social services field for a community-based non-profit organization that helps those with developmental disabilities find supportive living situations.

Monika Hajdecki

Monika graduated from Guildford Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Teaching at SFU in 2016. She teaches English, Social Studies, and ELL at a secondary school in BC and has taught in Japan through the JET program.

Navjot Kalkat

Navjot graduated from Fleetwood Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Douglas College in 2016. In 2020, she earned her Masters of Science in Nursing and is currently working as a registered nurse and an instructor of perinatal nursing.

Weike Qu

Weike graduated from Guildford Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Applied Science at UBC in 2016. After earning his Professional Engineer designation, he is pursuing a degree in computer science with the eventual goal of promoting technological innovation in the construction industry.

Ashley Vincent (Cooke)

Ashley graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at SFU in 2017. As a Montessori teacher, Ashley enjoys encouraging young people in a positive and impactful way.

Ashley Halvorson-Douglas

Ashley graduated from Smithers Senior Secondary in Smithers, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Douglas College in 2017. She currently works as a nurse in Newfoundland, where she enjoys exploring the coast on her motorcycle.

Rachel McLennan-Carich

Rachel graduated from Elgin Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at UBC in 2017. She recently worked as a contract urban researcher for SFU’s Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue  and is currently pursuing further education in medicine.

Rachelle Francis

Rachelle graduated from Regent Christian Academy in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations at UBC in 2017.

Scott Holcombe

Scott graduated from Guildford Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at SFU in 2017. He is currently working as a subcontractor for a telecommunications company.

Leia Kim

Leia graduated from Johnston Heights Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her degree in Business Administration at SFU in 2018. She currently works as a producer at a mobile apps development studio.

Stephanie Lynch

Stephanie graduated from LA Matheson Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in 2018. In 2020, she graduated with her Bachelor of Education from UBC and has been working as an elementary school teacher.

Jaskaran Mundi

Jas graduated from Kwantlen Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her BBA in Entrepreneurial Leadership in 2018. Since 2019, she has worked as an Operations Manager with Pacific Pallet.

Emily McEachern

Emily graduated from Frank Hurt Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her post secondary degree from Kwantlen in 2018.

James Najman

James graduated from Johnston Heights Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his degree in Physical Education from University of the Fraser Valley in 2018. Working as a kinesiologist, he loves helping people heal mentally, physically, and emotionally from their injuries. In his free time, he cycles and pursues physical fitness goals.

Simran Samra

Simran graduated from LA Matheson Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her post secondary degree in science at UBC in 2018.

Paul Stewardson

Paul graduated from Yale Secondary in Abbotsford, BC, and completed a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Economics from the University of Victoria in 2018. Currently working on a PhD in Medical Science with a specialty in Cancer Biology at the University of Calgary, Paul is also working as an equity research associate for a financial firm.

Sydney Gaidos

Sydney graduated from Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School in 2013 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2019. Working as a registered nurse, Sydney also runs a wedding photography business.

Joy Gyamfi

Joy graduated from Enver Creek Secondary School in Surrey, BC, and completed a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and English Literature at the University of British Columbia in 2019. She currently works as a social planner with the City of Vancouver.

Sarah Graham

Sarah graduated from St. Michaels University School in Victoria, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Social Justice Studies at the University of Victoria in 2019. Since graduation, Sarah has coordinated a gender-based violence prevention program, become a sexual health educator and worked at a harm reduction organization. She has recently returned to school to pursue a Master of Social Work in order to eventually become a registered social worker and counsellor.

Chadni Khondoker

Chadni graduated from Frank Hurt Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Integrated Sciences at University of British Columbia Vancouver in 2019. Currently, she is pursuing medical school at UBC. In her free time, she is a co-lead of the UBC Women’s Health Initiative Perinatal committee and is a UBC MD outreach ambassador.

Kayla Lajeunesse

Kayla graduated from Frank Hurt Secondary School in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Social Work with a Specialization in Child Welfare at the University of British Columbia Vancouver in 2019. Working as a child protection social worker, Kayla ensures the safety of children and helps foster stronger families. She is pursuing her Master of Social Work this year.

Jontaya Mayer

Jontaya graduated from Mount Boucherie Secondary in West Kelowna, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of British Columbia Okanagan in 2019. Jontaya is pursuing ongoing educational and career opportunities to deepen her knowledge and clinical experience, including plans to attain a Master’s degree.

Alexandra McSween

Alexandra graduated from Heritage Park Secondary in Mission, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of Ottawa in 2019. The recipient of the Cmolik Foundation’s graduate scholarship, Alexandra has recently completed her MSc and plans to start a PhD in mathematics in 2023.

Tanis Orsetti

Tanis graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Immunology and Physiology at the University of British Columbia in 2019. Currently pursuing her Master of Medical Science at the University of Calgary, Tanis is a recipient of the Cmolik Foundation’s graduate scholarship. She is applying to MD programs, volunteering with a non-profit, and investing in new hobbies such as running and painting.

Gurtej Varn

Gurtej graduated from Seaquam Secondary in Delta, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Arts in Economics at The University of British Columbia in 2018. After earning his Certified Financial Planner CFP® designation, he launched a full service financial planning firm for Canadian Drs. under 35, called White Coat Financial™

Tarndeep Singh

Tarndeep graduated from Kwantlen Park Secondary School in Surrey, BC, and completed a Bachelors of Science in Health Science at Simon Fraser University in 2019. Currently, Tarndeep works at Fraser Health and is planning to pursue a Master’s degree in public health.

Laura Chen

Laura graduated from R.C. Palmer Secondary School in Richmond, BC, and completed her Bachelor of International Economics at the University of British Columbia Vancouver in 2020. She is currently earning her Master’s in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from the London School of Economics.

Sarah Bednash

Sarah graduated from Semiahmoo Secondary in South Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2020 with a major in English Literature and a minor in First Nations and Indigenous Studies. Sarah also completed her Bachelor of Education at UBC in 2021 and is working in education.

Akashdeep Dhunna

Akash graduated from Queen Elizabeth Secondary School in Surrey, BC, and completed a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in 2020. Currently, she is pursuing her CPA Designation and master’s degree in Professional Accounting at the University of Saskatchewan. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming, going on long trail walks, and spending time with her family.

Timna Dumitra

Timna graduated from Langley Christian School in Langley, BC, and completed her Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. After which she continued her education in an apprenticeship with Heli-One and now works for a helicopter maintenance organization.

Alexander Hook

Alexander graduated from Alpha Secondary in Burnaby, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Environmental Science at Simon Fraser University in 2020. Currently, he is working towards a Masters of Resource Management at SFU and spends his free time learning about car mechanics and gardening.

Cassidy King

Cassidy graduated from Seaquam Secondary School in Delta, BC, and completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology at University of the Fraser Valley in 2020. Cassidy is currently completing the Bachelor of Education program at the University of British Columbia.

Nathaniel King

Nathaniel graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed a Bachelors of Engineering at Dalhousie University in 2020.

Madeline Lauener

Madeline graduated from Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary school in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University in 2020. A recipient of the Cmolik Foundation’s graduate scholarship, Madeline is pursuing the Master of Science in Pathology program at UBC and is applying to a joint MD/PhD program in pathology. In addition, she has been an undergraduate student mentor at UBC, a research journal reviewer, a teaching assistant, and graduate student representative.

Mohamed Mohamoud

Mohamed graduated from Kwantlen Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Science, Combined Major in Science specializing in Physics, Computer Science, and Earth & Environmental Science at UBC in 2020. Recently, Mohamed completed his Diploma in Accounting at UBC and is now working as an associate accountant with a major Toronto firm.

Cailean Paskall

Cailean graduated from L.A. Matheson Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology at Simon Fraser University in 2020. He is now busy with a hands-on law education at the University of British Columbia, participating in legal clinics and moot competitions.

Kit Weir

Kit graduated from Burnaby South Secondary in Burnaby, BC, and completed a Bachelor of Science (with distinction) in Interactive Arts & Technology (major) and Business (minor) at Simon Fraser University in 2020. Kit is pursuing design freelancing, developing skills in digital marketing and promotion, client relationship management, and finance.

Megan Praat

Megan graduated from Chilliwack Secondary School in Chilliwack, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Commerce with an Accounting Co-op Option at University of British Columbia in 2020. Currently, Megan works at an accounting firm and is pursuing her Masters in Professional Accounting through the University of Saskatchewan.

Max Abah

Max graduated from McMath Secondary in Richmond, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria in 2021. Max has been hired by a major accounting firm in Victoria.

Georgia Brodie

Georgia graduated from Kwantlen Park Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing in 2021. She is currently working at Royal Columbian Hospital and hopes to pursue a master’s degree in the future.

Jovandeep Choongh

Jovandeep graduated from North Surrey Secondary and completed his Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from the University of British Columbia in 2021. Jovan has already successfully created, developed, and sold his own successful business.

Tyler Dean

Tyler graduated from Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary in Cloverdale, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Greek & Roman Studies and a minor in History from the University of Victoria in 2021. Currently, Tyler is collecting his volunteer hours in order to achieve his goal of becoming a secondary teacher.

Sukhi Dhindsa

Sukhi graduated from LA Matheson Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Oceanography and Biology from the University of British Columbia in 2021. She hopes to work and travel before returning to university to pursue a graduate degree.

Riley Ellis

Riley graduated from Chilliwack Secondary in Chilliwack, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biological Sciences in 2021. He is currently working full-time in a related field while exploring potential future graduate program opportunities.

Alissa Hewton

Alissa graduated from Frank Hurt Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Linguistics minor from Simon Fraser University in 2021. Taking a gap year to work as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, she intends to attend grad school in 2022 to become a fully certified and registered Speech Language Pathologist.

Madison Jensen

Madison graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan in 2021. She is currently working as an RN at a rural hospital in the emergency department.

Lucy MacKinnon

Lucy graduated from McMath Secondary in Richmond, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in International Development with a minor in Anthropology from McGill University in 2021. Lucy hopes to work at a non-profit in the environmental realm and eventually to pursue a master’s in environmental policy and management.

Liam Mebesius

Liam graduated from Chilliwack Secondary in Chilliwack, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a concentration in Biological Sciences in 2021. He hopes to pursue graduate studies in the very near future.

Raven Moller

Raven graduated from Robert Bateman Secondary in Abbotsford, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours in Animal Biology in 2021. Her goal is to attend veterinary school.

Mitchell Prost

Mitchell graduated from Holy Cross Regional High School in Surrey, BC, and completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Behavioural Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia in 2021. He is currently working full-time at his alma mater where he anticipates he will also pursue graduate studies.

Arshpreet Sidhu

Arshpreet graduated from RE Mountain Secondary in Langley, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Food Nutrition and Health with a major in Dietetics from the University of British Columbia in 2021. She is currently working as a Clinical Dietician with the goal of pursuing medicine in her future.

MaryJo Whelan

MaryJo graduated from Frank Hurt Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2021. ​​This past September she began her Masters of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia.

Umaimah Zanif

Umaimah graduated from Johnston Heights Secondary in Surrey, BC, and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia in 2021. Umaimah is currently in the Masters of Science Program at UBC in Interdisciplinary Oncology.
